Locking and Unlocking Objects

If you’ve got something in just the right position, you can keep it from getting accidentally moved.

To lock objects:

Select all of the objects you want to lock.

Click the Lock button in the toolbar, or choose Lock Positions from the Arrange menu.

Now the objects can’t be moved until you unlock them.

To unlock objects:

Select all of the objects you want to unlock.

If all of the selected objects are locked, the Lock button in the toolbar changes to Unlock, and the Lock Positions command in the Arrange menu becomes Unlock Positions. If some of the objects are locked and some aren’t, lock them all first and then use the same command again to unlock them all.

Now the objects can be moved again.
